Legislative and Policy Support

S. 1398 and H.R. 3072 – Promoting Free and Fair Elections Act

These bills substantially counter an Executive Order issued by President Biden that employ “approved” third party non-governmental organizations with the power to influence voting choices by exploiting Americans whose hard-earned tax dollars would be used to pay for the effort. In addition, to prevent agencies from circumventing these bills, Section 3 includes a specific provision that would lead to accountability for agency heads in the form of a report to Congress regarding how the Executive Order was implemented; in this case highlighting efforts to avoid the law. H.R. 2776 – Go Woke, Go Broke Act

This legislation helps to stem the tide of institutionalizing Critical Race Theory (CRT), “woke” ideology, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in business and banking, and the proliferation of “affirmative” action with respect to Treasury Department activities that should truly be focused on maintaining a strong economy and creating employment opportunities for all of us. As recognized in our Declaration of Independence, “all men are created equal.” All… not just some of them, and all persons, regardless of “race, color, religion, sex, or national origin” (to borrow from Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of

1964) are due equal protection and equal opportunity in our society. Click here to see AMAC Action’s letter of support.

H.Res. 464 – Acknowledging that unborn children are legal and constitutional persons who are entitled to the equal protection of the laws.

This resolution clearly recognizes that an unborn child is a person, separate from anyone else, to whom the right to life granted by God applies. Click here to see AMAC Action’s letter of support.

Chapter Meetings

In KY-03 the chapter leader, using information gleaned from AMAC Action advocate training, presented facts and details on immigration and border security. Members of KS-04 had an opportunity to meet the candidates for Wichita mayor and the city council. In NV-02, Clerk Recorder for Carson City Scott Hoen and Nevada State Assemblyman (District 39) Ken Gray addressed the topic of fraud perpetrated against Seniors at all levels. Convention of States was the topic of discussion in FL-13 and in FL-19, State Legislative Affairs Director for Americans for Prosperity (AFP) Christopher Stranburg gave an introduction of AFP and provided a 2023 Florida State Legislative overview.

All-State Chapter Meeting

Iowa had its first All-State Chapter Meeting (a virtual meeting for all Iowa AMAC members)! AMAC Action State Advocacy Representative John Whelan spoke on H.R. 2986 – HEALTH Act and AMAC’s plan to save Social Security, the Social Security Guarantee plan. Senator Joni Ernst provided a pre-recorded message and former assistant secretary of state Robert Charles spoke of the need for everyone, even those in red states, to get involved at every level and sphere of influence. Make a difference at a time when our country is at great risk! These are the moments that count!

Calls-to-Action

Calls-to-Action are active for California SB 278 and SCA 2, and the JP Morgan Chase assault on civil rights.

American Conservatism: Concise Guide to Conservatism by Russell Kirk

Chapter 1 – The Essence of Conservatism

Russell Kirk lays out ten principles that characterize American conservatism: (1) We are governed by moral laws; (2) great civilizations are characterized by variety and diversity, not the uniform and absolute equality found in a communist system; (3) we have equal rights before the law; (4) property rights and freedom are inseparable; (5) power is full of danger; (6) the past is a great source of wisdom; (7) “modern society urgently needs true community”; (8) America should be an example to the world; (9) human beings are imperfect and human-made utopia can never be achieved; (10) change and reform are not the same thing.

“American conservatives endeavor to reconcile the growth and alteration essential to our life with the strength of our social and moral traditions.”

― Russell Kirk, political theorist, author, literary critic, social critic, and

referred by many as the father of American Conservatism

Quote of the Week

“The rubber meets the road at the state level.”

― Andy Mangione, AMAC Action Senior Vice President
